SKYLIGHT LOFT THERMO roof access window, PVC with triple glazing

SKYLIGHT LOFT THERMO is a roof access window that has been improved in every respect compared to our bestseller SKYLIGHT LOFT! It has a completely new plastic profile based on the latest production line of the SKYLIGHT SUPRO roof window series. It gives the construction an attractive and modern appearance and is also very durable and easy to maintain, so that virtually no maintenance or painting is required even after several years. Thanks to the new profile, combined with triple glazing, the roof access window achieves an outstanding thermal insulation value of Uw= 1.1 (W/m²K)!

Safe access to the roof

The PVC window SKYLIGHT LOFT THERMO is a window that opens outwards to the side. The sash can be opened to the right or left to allow easy access to the roof. The top of the sash is equipped with a double gas strut (for sizes 6/9, 6/11, 7/9 and 7/11) or a locking bar (for smaller sizes 5/7 and 5/9), which can be used to lock the open sash firmly in a 90° position. With these features, the SKYLIGHT LOFT THERMO roof access window provides safe access to the roof for maintenance work. Innovative opening mechanisms

Sizes 5/7 and 5/9 still use the tried and tested locking hinge to make manual opening and closing easier. In the larger sizes (6/9, 6/11, 7/9 and 7/11), on the other hand, double gas struts with a damping function are installed to ensure safe and smooth operation. This makes opening the window even easier.

Warm access window with triple glazing

The SKYLIGHT LOFT THERMO is equipped with an argon-filled, energy-efficient 3-pane package with a total thickness of 48 mm. In addition, the pane pack is fitted with a TGI-Spacer pane spacer, which further improves the performance of the glazing pack. The glazing prevents unnecessary heat loss and achieves a heat transfer coefficient for the glass of Ug = 0.5 W/m2K.

Two-stage room ventilation

This SKYLIGHT LOFT THERMO roof access window now also features a handle groove that allows the handle to be fixed in two positions, providing the option of micro-ventilation - for effective and adjustable ventilation without the risk of immediate flooding in the house when it starts to rain.

Protection against moisture

The drainage holes in the lower part of the frame have also been incorporated into this window by SUPRO - moisture and condensation can thus be easily drained away. This solution is particularly useful in winter, when there is a big difference between the inside temperature under the roof and the outside temperature.

Solid construction

The window profile offers a solid and durable construction. 4 cold-resistant seals provide optimum protection against external influences and ensure maximum tightness of the roof window. There are drainage holes on the underside of the frame that safely drain condensation to the outside. Thanks to the new frame design, it is possible to remove the cover without interfering with the integrity of the window structure.

New hinges and handles ensure greater functionality and safety

The SKYLIGHT LOFT THERMO roof access window has also been equipped with a new frame hinge. This improves the safety, strength and functionality of the window and simplifies installation. The hinge itself is fitted on the inside and not on the outside, as with the older SKYLIGHT LOFT model, which further improves the thermal performance of the entire window. The sash can be adjusted horizontally by 2 mm using larger drill holes and vertically by 0-3 mm using washers. This also ensures smooth adjustment of the sash to the frame for a perfect fit. The hinge is divisible and consists of a sash part and a frame hinge. The latter in turn consists of 2 parts that are screwed together during installation. The fittings of the SKYLIGHT LOFT THERMO do not require any additional maintenance. However, we recommend lubricating the seals with spray lubricant before the winter season.

Thermal insulation

The SKYLIGHT LOFT THERMO uses the same profile and triple glazing as the SKYLIGHT SUPRO roof window. This means that the roof access window has adopted all the thermal, acoustic and strength parameters of the tried-and-tested PVC-U roof window and is a warm roof access window. The overall U-value is already very good, even for a simple roof window, but for a roof access window, Uw= 1.1 (W/m²K is outstanding).

Aesthetics

The roof window has a classic design that goes well with different interior styles and requires minimal maintenance, limited to occasional washing. PVC roof windows do not mean you have to compromise on aesthetics. The original, simple profile fulfils every design requirement.

Additional dimension options

To meet the expectations of its customers, window manufacturer SkyFens has introduced 2 new and larger window sizes: 6/11 and 7/11. These meet the requirements of projects that require larger installation solutions and offer additional light space. These solutions are made possible by a stiffer, more stable construction and the use of gas struts instead of hinges.

Flashing

The flashing is an integral part of a properly installed roof window. It drains the water flowing down and provides a secure seal against rain, snow and wind. Like the window cover profiles, the flashing is made from 3105 H42 aluminium sheet and is available in RAL 7043.

An important advantage of the flashing for sealing the Skylight roof window is the innovative connection to the frame. The upper edge of the flashing is placed in a specially designed groove in the frame and covered with a seal - this completely prevents water, especially melt water, from seeping through.
